about

A rip-roaring punk drum beat drives an upbeat rock anthem with itch-scratchin' mandolin runs and grunge-hammer bass lines. As lead singer Harry Braswell lavishly narrates your latest therapy session, it becomes more and more tempting to admit that you should get more therapy sessions. Alternatively, the chorus offers a gentle respite, prescribing a dose of three-part vocal harmonies - soaring atop a gentle melody from savant 5-string bassist Benjamin Spencer Wescott. As the story takes a more personal turn, drummer Nick "Tickles" Woehrle expresses the patient's dilemma in verse:"Everyone's lying and I'm just not buying it."The song ends echoing the sentiment that "sanity" doesn't come in a pill bottle, borrowing System of a Down-like poignancy to deliver the phrase:"Buy yourself a little catharsis."

lyrics

Step into his office
Lie down on the couch
He'll ask a lot of questions
You won't know what they're about
And as he questions you further
You realize you've been
Shouting in response
But that's exactly what he wants
And now he's taking his notes
He always seems to be taking notes
But everything he tells you
Hits the nail on the head
It's like he's reading yer mail
It's like he's makin' yer bed
And as yer scratchin' yer noggin'
He's scratching his pen across
The paper where he's takin' his notes
The paper where he's takin' his notes
I always wondered what it is that he wrote
But this is what he said, and I quote

You've got damage
But it's alright
Because no one can tell
By the look in your eyes
Listen closely now
To your doctor's advice
Just take two of these pills
And I think you'll be fine

You've got damage
But it's alright
Because no one can tell
By the look in your eyes
Listen closely now
To your doctor's advice
Just take two of these pills
And you might be alright

He tells you all that's wrong is
"You've been thinking too hard"
He prescribes antidepressants
Then he gives you his card and sez
"On the way home, go make a
Stop by the pharmacy and
Buy yourself a little catharsis"
Buy yourself a little catharsis

You can buy the
Coolest head on the market
But yer brain ain't quite the
Place where yer heart is

You've got damage
But it's alright
Because no one can tell
By the hurt in your eyes
Listen closely now
To yer doctor's advice
Just take two of these pills
And you might be alright

You've got damage
But it's alright
Listen closely now
To the doubt in your mind
Just take two of these pills
And I think I'll be fine
Let's take two of these pills
And we might be alright

Everyone's lying and
I'm just not buying it
When you feel like a target
The thing that's the hardest
Is everyone tells you to

Buy yourself a little catharsis
Buy yourself a little catharsis
Buy yourself a little catharsis
To find yourself
